You know a lot of cats come up to me and ask me, "Yo, D, Pawns of Parexcellence, what does that mean? What's that about?" I always smile because it gives me a chance to school them on the process of understanding it. You see, it's quite simple. First let's start with the word Pawn. If you're a chess player you would know that Pawns are the game pieces of least value, tangible pieces used as the frontline to protect the King, Queen, and the Hierarchy. The Pawn is vulnerable, weak, and usually the first to be overtaken. In the game of chess there are two types of Pawns. They differ each other in color, and they are enemies, opposites you might say.

I hope you got me so far. Now let's switch it up a bit. Let's review what we know about the Pawn so far and compare it to life. You're a Pawn, I'm a Pawn, and he's a Pawn. I don't give a damn if you are a doctor, a lwayer, a fucking CEO,construction worker, bum, or a thug on the street. We're all Pawns no matter how you look at it. Once you get that, you realize we're the one that make the nation tick even though we are tangible assets of least value. We protect the President, the First Lady, the Hierarchy, State, Country and Nation. In battle our sons and daughters are the front line and usually the first to die. I ain't bullshittin' ! Look at the numbers in the war now and what is to come. If you think Iraq is the last stop you must be blind.

In life , there are two types of people. One Pawn sees life as it is, while the other Pawn sees life more than what it is. What I am trying to explain is, you know what, fuck it, this is easier. Do you know or heard the phrase, The Man? If you don't it's definition is the Opressor, Master, or the Government. Some people, regular Pawns, go through life and knowingly take what "the Man" gives to them: follow the rules, retire, collect low Social Security and pass away with time. Some other Pawns go through the same scenario, but question it. They look at situations from different angles, question and rebel against authority for the injustices they suffer. That is when the word "Parexcellence" is defined.

Parexcellence, by definition, is above average, more than, cannot be compared to. The second Pawn is Parexcellence. He or she is the one that has the balls to stand up and ask why. Against the rule, the new order that is being set, and for those who die by the gun by corrupted entities in society. This Pawn is considered weak but strong in its goal and tries to make right what is wrong. It's not just a word, it is a lifestyle. To wake up and try to gain more out of life than the day before, turn negatives into positives, stay alert, and avoid the luring ways of a manipulative society. As you can see life is fucked up, we're all selfish, we all walk around with a mind state of not caring about the next man. We need to stop that shit and think as one. If not for us, then for the future, the youth who seems to be learning more violence than love. For this we will continue to fight. "We will prosper!"
